Antivirus Software for Macintosh OS X 10.3 and 10.4

Instructions for Symantec AntiVirus, Version 10

Please check following system requirements. An "admin" password will be needed.

  • Macintosh OS X version 10.3 and 10.4
  • G3 processor or higher
  • 192 MB of RAM - minimum
  • 100 MB of hard disk space
Before installing, please save and close all documents and data files.
  • Start any internet browser, like Safari, Netscape, etc.
  • Download Installation package.
  • Double click to expand, and a "sav10-mx2" folder will be created in same location where the package was downloaded.
  • Double click "SAV Installer-1.pkg" to launch installation, then continue with default choices. Let system restart when it suggests to do so.
  • Double click "SAV Installer-2" to launch second part of package to complete installation.
  • Run "LiveUpdate" from Applications/SymantecAntivirus folder on local hard drive. Then click "Update Everything Now" button.
  • Click "Restart" after everything is updated.
